| This design is easy to do – an hour will make a pretty pair of post earrings. Most of the beadwork is based on the right-angle-weave stitch. |

Supplies for 1 pair : Miyuki Delica Beads – Color A (center) – 34 Color B (petals) – 90 Color C (leaves) – 40 1 pair earring posts Beading needle Nymo thread Beeswax Jeweler’s cement or clear nail polish |

Step 1: String 10 beads of color A onto 1 yard of waxed thread and tie into a ring (fig. 1). Leave about 3” of tail to weave in later.

Step 2 (First petal) : Pass through (PT) one of the A beads. String 2 B, 1 C, 5 B, 1 C, and 2 B beads. PT the same A bead to form a ring (fig. 2). Weave around the ring again, skipping every third bead (fig. 3). Exit out the first C bead. As you pull the thread taut, the skipped beads should move to the outside of the ring, making it look like a little square. |

Step 3 (First leaf) : String 3 C beads and PT the C bead on the edge of the petal (fig. 4). Weave around to exit the opposite C bead. |

Step 4 (Second petal) : String 2 B beads and PT the A bead that is 2 beads away from the A bead attached to the first petal (fig. 5). String 2 B, 1 C, 5 B, and PT the C bead of the first leaf (fig. 6). Weave around the second petal again, skipping every third bead (fig. 7). Pull taut to make the petal a square. Weave around the petal to exit out the opposite C bead (fig. 8). |

Step 5 : Repeat Step 3 and Step 4 three more times to make leaves 2-4 and petals 3-5. |

Step 6 (Fifth leaf) : String 1 C bead and connect to the C bead in the first petal. String one more C bead and complete the leaf (fig. 9). Weave around the first petal to exit out of the connecting A bead. |

Step 7 (Center) : String 3 A beads and PT the opposite A bead in the original ring (fig. 10 – in the chart, the beads are shown with spaces and with the petals missing for clarity). Follow the stringing chart in fig. 11 to add 4 more A beads to the center. The center will bulge up slightly. Weave around the ring for stability and tie off. Weave in the ends. |

Step 8 : Finish the earring by gluing a pierced earring post to the back of the flower with jeweler’s cement. |
